It’s late August and still waiting for summer to arrive – though it feels today like Autumn is coming instead!

Nairn Skies 3: The Rainbow
The skies over Nairn continue to be breathtaking, with a whole vista of different scenes over the past few days.
A glorious deep red sunset last night, almost eerie orange clouds the night before, and before that, a striking double rainbow.
Now that the weather appears to be turning, perhaps we’ll see more of the sun and [...]
Fire in the sky
And now a blazing sunset tonight.
Skies clearing after Winter return
The past few days have seen the Winter snows bring disruption across much of Scotland again – though the weather in Nairn moved between rain, sleet, snow and hail, without any of it settling.
Not so for many other parts of Scotland:

Central Scotland and Aberdeen seem to be taking the brunt of the bad weather at present, with the A9 closed in Perthshire and Hundreds stuck in snow on A9 in Perthshire according to the BBC:

Big Freeze continues
The big freeze continues, and the met office are warning that it could last another two weeks.
Meanwhile, travel disruption continues, with all important road, rail, and air links across the Highlands subject to continued problems.
At a time when councils are facing budget cuts, it seems most Scottish authorities will be forced to over-spend on [...]
Driving through Frozen Scotland
When we arranged to spend Christmas week with relatives down south, we could never have expected the weather conditions to be as severe as they were.
It’s not just the roads that were bad: roads, rail links, and airports across the UK were disrupted or closed because of heavy snow and freezing temperatures.

Severe weather driving
I had to drive down to Dumfries yesterday on a family matter – and all I can say is that the next time I see a severe weather warning – I’m staying at home!!
When a particular strong and heavy snow shower drifted in from the north on Sunday morning, I figured on main roads being [...]
