Aurora over Nairn

Last night saw the Northern Lights visible to the north of Nairn, with the beach providing a decent backdrop to watch them.
The light show was somewhat weak, however, with the aurora visible mostly as a slight green mist, though watching it for a while I did see a slight curtain effect develop at one side.
According to the BBC, the aurora was visible over much of Britain, even reporting it as visible from East Sussex.
More pictures from the BBC here (including the one above, which better represented something of what could be seen from the central beach).

I’m kicking myself for missing this. Beautiful picture, Brian.
Not my pic, though, just copied from the BBC site – but not too far off what was visible from Nairn.
