Jellyfish beach

The past few weeks have seen Nairn’s beaches inundated with smal jellyfish.

These are probably the same ones that caused the temporary shut down of Torness nuclear power station at Dunbar at the end of June.

So far these appear to be harmless moon jellyfish, but are certainly to be respected for there numbers.

They are especially visible when the tide is going out, before the sun dries them out.

All that glitters is not gold – below, all those bright spots are dead jellyfish!
