Also, just a note on animal cruelty – I’m quite aware that the circus industry in general has had a bad reputation for animal cruelty, and if Zippo’s had advertised any exotic animals, I would not have considered going.
However, the only animals the show advertised were horses, and these were grazing in the showfield between performances. Additionally, they did not have a whip used against them during the performance.
Also, Zippo’s was the first circus to introduce a code of conduct for animal welfare to the circus industry, so I think overall, they are almost certainly one of the good guys and not due any criticisms on animal cruelty (though I note some people seem to insist any use of animals in any industry represents cruelty).
