Nairn Aquaria leaves Fishertown
Another watery topic on Nairn – this time Nairn Aquaria, one of the town’s unofficial gems, has shut it’s doors and the owners are moving down south.
It was only a small shop, but any visitor could enjoy a breath-taking views of an array of fish, crustaceans, and amphibians, plus they had recently expanded to provide a number of reptiles as well.
For the kids, it was like going to a mini-zoo, and could provide a great distraction for them when walking around the Fishertown area.
We never visited very often, but we did buy from there as well, not least a water filter system for one little girl’s aquasaur collection.
In the meantime, I can only wish the owners the best of luck in their move to the Central Belt, and report that Nairn has lost one of it’s unspoken family attractions.
