Halloween in Nairn

Yes, it was Halloween again, that time of the year when we think of those less fortunate than ourselves – such as pumpkins and the dead.
The kids had a great time ‘Trick or Treat’ing – some of the residents Lochloy way got very much into the spirit of the night.
I’m told that at one house, children would have to reach for treats through a set up of slime, and another house was playing wolf howls through the letter box.
My job was to stay at home and give out the treats, so we left a pumpkin on the lawn to invite the children around, and I gothed up to look somewhat vampiric to get in the spirit of the evening.
I popped in to see friends after, and it was great to see how a lot of people had got into fancy dress for the Saturday night pup crawls – while trying to get out of Fishertown, I found my way blocked by a group walking on the road that included perhaps as many as seven Musketeers!
I just sincerely hope the goodwill that started the evening continued through to night’s end.
