Highland ePlanning online

The Highland Council’s ePlanning service is now online, which allows for planning applications to be filed directly over the internet:
There is also a searchable database of planning applications, and accompanying notes and comments – here’s the monthly list (use your browser Edit > Find function to search for “Nairn” for applications in the town:
Planning applications – monthly
There’s an attempt to provide a map to search for applications, but I’m not finding it to work very well.
Ironically, the map also uses the Ordnance Survey scale of 1:250 000 – and, yes, you guessed it – the one that does not have Nairn’s beaches shown up, but it appears no one in the HC noticed.
I’m not sure how much of the online information is new – but I thought it worth bringing the information into a single post to cover the issue.
Either way, with the teleconferenced council planning meetings for the area, it helps bring a lot more transparency to the overall planning process for the town.
And, of course, theoretically simpler planning submissions.

Still unable to access the individual plans of each application though last night. Some applications state they have attracted comments but when you click on those tabs nothing happens.
Looks like it needs a bit more road testing. If I were an objector or even a developer I reckon I would submit material by the more traditional route for a while just in case there were problems.
I am having problems using the site as well
