Events in Nairn

As the cry goes out to catalogue events in Nairn, I thought it would be worth checking the community centre.

Despite having been in there a number of times, I was surprised to see how much was regularly happening in Nairn.

Check it out: Nairn Community Centre, regular events

There’s also basic listings of up and coming events.

Now all we need to do is get Iain Fairweather to provide fuller descriptions of the activities. :)

For example, there’s something to do with Rocky Horror on Saturday evening planned – Auldearn Primary Present “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” – but the word “primary” suggests children, so I’m not sure how adult we’re supposed to dress up as for the timewarp. :)

Having a What’s On guide is essential. We had one. Everyone wants one. But you know why it stopped? Simply because people wouldn’t pass on details of their events. They expected someone to phone them up and ask. Multiply that by the number of events and you can see that it requires hours of work. I once had an events section on visitnairn.com. Probably before its time – but no one sent details. Might be worth trying again!
But look out for the new Spotlight magazine in June. They will be featuring a What’s On section. Brilliant!

Here’s hoping we’ll see more online as well. :)
