News of the car accident on Marine Road early on Sunday morning is fleshed out as it’s revealed 23-year old Nairn girl, Sarah Miller, was killed.

What’s all the more tragic is that the whole incident looks like it could so easily have been avoided – and typically it was the dangerous driver who got off with least injuries:

Man accused of designer’s death

A 31-year-old man has appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court accused of causing the death of a fashion designer by driving dangerously.

Garth Green appeared in private following the death of Sarah Miller, 23, in Nairn, on Sunday morning.

Mr Green was also accused of driving at a grossly excessive speed, striking a kerb, mounting a pavement before colliding with a wall.

Mr Green, of Nairn, made no plea or declaration and was released on bail.

He faces further charges of failing to give police officers information regarding the identity of the car driver and failing to provide two specimens of breath at a police station in Inverness following the crash.

Two other girls are also reported in earlier coverage to have been injured.

Our condolences to Sarah’s family – I don’t think any words from here can be of any help.

heartbreaking. Beautiful young girl, whom I was friends with killed. makes no sense. I just hope that her parents know what a beautiful, friendly, warm girl everyone thought she was, she was very much loved. She was a credit to them. A wonderful girl with a wonderful smile, and a heart bigger than you can imagine. Maybe now her dreams will be made of strawberry lemonade.
