Elgin swimming baths also closed

My eldest daughter wanted to take a couple of friends to the swimming baths as a birthday treat.

Originally we were going to go to Inverness Aquadome, but that’s still closed after the fire.

Someone suggested we consider the swimming baths at Elgin – we’ve never been, but it sounded like a treat.

However, an hour before setting off one of the girls warned that her mum had gone there the previous day – only to find them closed.

There was nothing on the Moray Leisure Centre website about this, but a call confirmed it, so we had to go to the pool at Nairn.

The first time I went there I wasn’t too impressed – it caters little for younger swimmers, with no dedicated child’s pool, just a cold adult pool.

However, with both Inverness and Elgin closed, and the Black Isle still screaming for their own swimming baths, I had to feel grateful that at least Nairn did have open swimming baths.

ADDED! Dear Highland Council, please ensure all of your leisure facilities can take credit/debit cards – starting with Nairn leisure centre!!!
