New Nairn Photos: Nairnbairn and Nairnshire pool
Just noticed someone called “nairnbairn” has uploaded a number of fascinating photos of Nairn over the cold spell at New Year to Flickr:
Definitely worth a look at – though whether these are from the popular blog commentator of the same name, I’m not sure, yet.
In the meantime, nairnbairn appears to have set up a Nairnshire pool of Nairn photos:
I may not have contributed much to Flickr, but if nairnbiarn is reading, you are welcome to use any of these from MyNairn on Flickr:
Interestingly enough, I was speaking to someone this week about how Nairn’s tourist initiative should look to use online media, and one of my suggestions was to set up a dedicated Flickr account to showcase the best pictures of Nairn for visitors to enjoy. Is this a test run, or is it an example of great minds (sic!) thinking alike?

Guilty as charged on the first count, Your Honour. I confess that it was indeed me (or rather I) who took those pics and uploaded them on to Flickr. So it is indeed the very same nairnbairn. Would I use a pseudonym – moi?
But I plead not guilty on the second count. The “Nairnshire” group on Flickr has clearly been in existence for a while, and certainly predates my sign-up. The group/pool was, as far as I can tell, set up by another local photographer called Peter Thompson who is listed as the group’s administrator. And good for him: anything which keeps Nairn and Nairnshire visible to a wider audience has to be a good thing…
And as far as I know, anyone who signs up to Flickr can join this or any other group. So come on folks, get to it!
Excellent – thanks for the heads up. This all gets very interesting – have to find if Peter Thompson is blogging anywhere.
