Aquadome not open until March
Well, my eldest daughter has her 10th birthday later this month and has been nagging to take a couple of friends to the Aquadome as her birthday treat.
It’s a brilliant place to take the kids at any time – it’s often hard to bring learning and fun into the same activity, and living on the coast it seems especially important to help encourage our children to swim.
Alas, it seems that the leisure pool we all love at the Inverness Aquadome will be closed until March now:
Leisure pool reopening delayed
The leisure pool at Inverness Aquadome which was the scene of a fire in September is now not due to reopen until March — two months later than expected.
Contractors, who were back on site yesterday following the festive break, will have further discussions with the centre’s management later this week when further details should become available.
In the meantime, the swimming pool at Nairn isn’t very attractive when you have very young children – it’s quite amazing that the place seems to have been built without children in mind.
Still, all the more reason to look forward to the Aquadome reopening.
