Millbank and Junior World vandalised

Millbank and Junior World were vandalised last Friday night, apparently, but I only just learned about it yesterday (and there was no coverage in this week’s Nairnshire).

Basically, one or more complete fuckwits smashed windows at Junior World and Millbank school, and daubed graffiti around – mostly for “NBC” as well as some graphic images (one of which was daubed on Millbank’s nursery door).

Two windows were broken in Carol’s Room at Junior World – the room at the front and right – though I’m not sure how many may have been broken at Millbank School.

This is all pretty disgusting – targeting a junior school and nursery to graffiti is fucking disgraceful. My kids go there – my youngest daughter used to be in Carol’s class (and Carol is such a lovely person), and to daub graphic imagery on the door my daughter goes through into Millbank Nursery I take personally.

While the graffiti was apparently all cleaned up before school opened on Monday (well done!), this all made me really angry – while the vandal(s) may have thought they were targeting the school, I see it as targeting the children.

I called Nairn police to see whether it would be possible to offer a reward for the apprehension of those involved, but apparently I’d have to contact an inspector who isn’t in until next week.

In the meantime, I hope we don’t see a repeat of this.

Unpleasant story as such acts always are. Red Top newspaper language comes mind, mindless etc
Can only say you really must be new to Nairn if you are at all surprised that the Nairnshire is not carrying a news item.
Their splash on this weeks front page appeared in the Gurn months ago.
This is why your blog and the likes of the Gurn are so popular!

Thanks for the comments – while schools being vandalised isn’t rare news, it’s not what I would have expected to see in Nairn, and the fact that my kids are there kind of makes me personally angry.
