Nairn residents increasingly frustrated with Nairn councillors

The Gurn publishes a couple of pieces relating to frustration with how Nairn’s councillors are leaving the town with a confused image – derelict buildings along the A96, and ad hoc developments that seem to underline the whispers of backhanders from developers:

The first is from Iain Fairweather who runs Visit Nairn:
Can we have our town back please?

The second is from an “Ayeright” posting to the Gurn:
Waiting, waiting, waiting…

The Gurn suggested my outburst on Small Minded Nairn Politics may have been a little outspoken, but I think we are all definitely agreed that Nairn is a wonderful place that is being left adrift by bad planning – and that as residents we want to see a more intelligent focus on our town’s future.

I’ve recently been in contact with Iain as well as the Gurn – perhaps we may be able to organise something among ourselves?

After all, Nairn’s interest presence is mainly created through Nairn residents, and I’m a big fan of local action. :)

haha, come on now, no one really cares about doing these silly council jobs and we get stuck with these wally’s. To be honest I’d really like to know why they do it? is it a ego power trip? do they think they know better than the average man…. I’m sure there are some perks but we’re no talking JR and Dallas type figures (I hope). I think there should be a maximum term like the US presidency. 8 years and off to ….
